Stockdale reveals his Euro vision
Fulham keeper David Stockdale has pledged to use his unexpected Craven Cottage chance to clinch a place in England's Euro 2012 squad.
Stockdale was recalled from loan at Ipswich when Mark Schwarzer was ruled out for six weeks with a back problem and gave a stunning display to deny Chelsea on Boxing Day.
The 26-year-old Stockdale has become Fabio Capello's third choice keeper this season even though he has still to earn his first cap and admitted he is desperate to prove he deserves to be in the England reckoning.
Stockdale said: "I don't actually see myself as a recognised member of the England squad yet.
"Every time I get called up it's still excitement and there are other people he could call up.
"I'm just going to play for every squad and try not to look too far ahead. It will help if I can put in some good performances but it's not about England at the moment it's about cementing place in the Fulham team.
"I thought the performance was a brilliant response to what happened against Manchester United. We looked at few things on the video during the week and played really well as a result of the meeting.
"We wanted to draw a line under that and I think we have with the result at Chelsea."
