1. Thanks for taking time out to talk to us. Tell us, how did you get started in football?
With my local team at home, Cloughleigh Celtic in Ennis. Played from under 10s to under 18.
2. How do you prepare for a game?
Go for a walk with the dog, eat pre-match 3.30. have sleep then meet up for Home games
3. What gloves and boots do you wear?
Uhlsport boots and gloves
4. In your view, who’s currently the best goalkeeper in the world?
Buffon or Cech
5. What is the most attractive aspect of playing football for you?
Training in the morning and the rest of the day off
6. What do you do away from football to relax?
I travel down to Ennis when possible, just chill out with my girlfriend and family and walk my dog.


7. Are you superstitious?
Bang on a wall or door twice. Kiss my Dad’s ring
8. What do you think about the high salaries of modern players?
Best of luck to them. Not their fault
9. Which car do you drive?
Peugeot 307 -Silver
10. What is the last CD you bought?
Eric Clapton
11. Do you follow a nutritional programme?
Just eat sensibly
12. Do you like surfing on the internet?
No
13. Is there anything you would change about your football career?
More medals
14. What advice would you give to any young person who wants to become a goalkeeper?
Stick at it. There will be more highs than lows
15. In Northern Ireland a lot of are goalkeepers do not receive any goalkeeping specific training did you have the same problem when you decided to become a goalkeeper?
Yes at first, but that has changed. I think a coach is needed to get the best out of you. On your own you can become lazy.
16. How many times do you train a week, how is that broken down into sessions and who is your goalkeeping coach at the club.
Four times a week, plus a game on Friday. Sessions are Monday to Thursday mornings 10.30 to 12.00. Goalkeeping coach is Robbie Horgan
17. What do you think about the standard of football in Northern Ireland/ Ireland? And would you like to see an all Ireland League?
Getting better all the time/Yes, why not. Can only be good for the country.

Down to earth lad
19. What is your favourite holiday destination?
Turkey (Kasadasi)
20. Are you a good loser?
At the end of the day it is only a game. There are a lot more important things in life.

UCD/Shamrock Rovers/Dublin City
22. What do you think before a penalty? Are you good at saving penalties and what technique would you use?
Watch their eyes. Have had a decent record over my career
23. What’s your aim with your club this season?
Win the double.
24 Did you find it hard leaving home to become a professional goalkeeper?/ What advice would you give to any young goalkeeper to help them prepare for this?
Yes, left home at 17/Just stick at it. The way the game is going there is a good living to be made from something you love to do.

Roy Keane/Played with Carlton Palmer.

I like a Chinese

5ft 11 in/To a certain extent
31. What do you think of the Setanta Cup?
Very good competition. Playing different teams can only bring you on in the game

Manchester United
33. If you could go back and change any football decision in the world what would you change?
Roy Keane missing the Champions League Final in 1999.
